Energyst provides back-up cooling for existing system

Teijin Twaron, in Emmen (the Netherlands), is a manufacturer of aramid polymers (artificial fibres) used in a wide range of products including fibre-optic cable, bulletproof vests and other high technology industrial applications. Energyst was approached for a temporary refrigeration system for the production facility in Emmen, partly as a backup and partly for the replacement of the existing system.

The existing system required renovation/replacement; system failures would result in major production losses. With the placement of a temporary refrigeration system, Energyst was able to guarantee the continuity of the production process at all times. Energyst also provided a temporary power supply for the chillers provided and took care of the fuel management. This total solution is a prime example of the one-stop shopping principle: the job is placed entirely in the hands of Energyst, so that the client can get a fail-safe and 100% reliable system with a minimum of effort.

Six months of back-up refrigeration during renovation

Energyst provided three 500 kW water chillers, including cables and lines, and a 1000 kVA generator to power the system. These chillers were connected in series in order to reduce the temperature of the chilled water from -1 to -12 degrees Celsius. In addition, Energyst provided the fuel management for the generator.
